Nvidia Partners With Financial Giants To Raise $500 Billion For AI Infrastructure

Nvidia has partnered with six major financial institutions to launch compute financing platforms designed to raise more than $500 billion in third-party capital for artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The move comes as demand for AI computing capacity continues to surge. Governments, companies and startups are racing to expand data centres and secure the computing resources needed to support growing AI workloads.

Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang said on X that the company has the option to backstop up to $125 billion of the potential deals. That amount represents 25% of the planned financing.

    Six Financial Institutions Join Nvidia

Nvidia has signed memorandums of understanding with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs and KKR to establish the financing platforms.

The initiative aims to widen access to Nvidia-based infrastructure for a broad range of customers. These include frontier AI developers, enterprises, governments and cloud providers.

At the same time, the platforms are designed to create longer-duration, usage-linked investment opportunities for major asset managers and private capital firms. This approach connects institutional capital with the expanding need for AI computing infrastructure.

Nvidia said the arrangements would create dedicated pools of capital at significant scale and at attractive rates for its customers.

AI Spending Drives Demand For Compute

The financing initiative reflects the growing scale of investment required to build AI infrastructure. Big Tech companies have signalled that their spending on AI is unlikely to slow.

Combined outlays by major technology companies are set to surpass $730 billion this year. As a result, demand for data centres and computing capacity continues to attract increasing attention from institutional investors.

Nvidia’s latest move seeks to help customers secure computing resources at scale. It also supports the development of what Huang described as “AI factories” that will power industries and countries.

    $500 Billion Financing Plan

However, Nvidia has not disclosed the financial terms of the arrangements. The company also did not provide details on the investment commitments of the individual financial institutions.

In addition, Nvidia has not given a timetable for deploying the planned $500 billion in third-party capital. The company has instead outlined the initiative as a way to expand access to Nvidia-based infrastructure while opening new investment opportunities.

The development highlights the growing role of financial institutions in funding the infrastructure required for AI workloads. It also shows how the rapid expansion of AI is linking technology investment with large-scale private capital.

The Financial Times first reported the development on Monday. Reuters later confirmed the report.
