The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) has unveiled an ambitious Integrated Launch Manifesto, signaling a significant surge in commercial space missions utilizing ISRO’s launch infrastructure. The manifesto, covering fiscal years 2023-24 (Q4) and 2024-25, outlines a robust plan involving ISRO, New Space India Limited (NSIL), and Non-Governmental Entities (NGEs), highlighting a notable increase in private sector involvement in the Indian space sector.

Aligned with the directives of the recently ratified Indian Space Policy, IN-SPACe’s authorization of the launch manifesto underscores the government’s commitment to fostering innovation and establishing India as a Global Manufacturing Hub for space activities, in line with the vision of ‘Aatmnirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India).

The manifesto encompasses about 30 launches planned from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), SHAR, with a significant focus on commercial space endeavors. Notably, NSIL is set to undertake 7 commercial missions, including 2 PSLV launches realized through an industry consortium, marking a substantial increase in launch activity compared to previous years.

Furthermore, Non-Governmental Entities (NGEs) are poised to play a pivotal role in this space surge, with companies like Agnikul Cosmos and Skyroot Aerospace gearing up for Sub-Orbital and Orbital launches. Other NGEs, including Digantara Research & Technology, Dhruvaspace, and Space Kidz India, along with academic institutes like IIT-Madras and Manipal Institute of Technology, are slated to facilitate satellite launch requirements.

In its endeavor to optimize resources and accommodate the growing demand, IN-SPACe remains committed to fostering collaboration and innovation within the expanding space ecosystem of the country.

As India’s space sector witnesses unprecedented growth and participation from commercial entities, the Integrated Launch Manifesto stands as a testament to the nation’s prowess in space exploration and technological advancement.
