Tata Electronics And ASML Sign Gujarat Semiconductor Fab Agreement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Rob Jetten, witnessed the signing of an agreement between Tata Electronics and ASML to support the semiconductor Fab project in Dholera.

The two Prime Ministers welcomed the partnership between Tata Electronics and ASML for India’s first front-end semiconductor Fab in Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the agreement as a significant milestone in India’s efforts to build a strong semiconductor ecosystem within the country.

Moreover, the partnership strengthens India’s push to expand domestic semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. The agreement is expected to support the development of advanced chip production infrastructure and enhance India’s position in the global electronics supply chain.

ASML is a Dutch multinational corporation and one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-precision lithography equipment, which is essential for semiconductor chip manufacturing. The company plays a critical role in enabling advanced semiconductor production technologies used across the global electronics industry.

Meanwhile, Tata Electronics, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, is an Indian electronics and semiconductor manufacturing company establishing a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The planned Fab facility in Dholera forms part of India’s broader strategy to strengthen semiconductor production and reduce dependence on imported chips.

Furthermore, the collaboration reflects increasing international cooperation in semiconductor manufacturing as countries seek to secure supply chains and expand domestic chip production. India has accelerated investments in semiconductor infrastructure and technology partnerships in recent years to support growth in electronics manufacturing and digital industries.
