TDB-DST Backs STEM Activity Kit Commercialisation

In a major push to strengthen India’s indigenous educational technology sector, the Technology Development Board (TDB), under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has signed an agreement with Ansoz Creations Pvt. Ltd., Bhopal, for the commercialisation of electronics and IT-based STEM activity kits.

The project focuses on setting up an advanced manufacturing facility to produce a wide range of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) educational kits for children and young learners aged between three and 18 years. Moreover, the initiative supports the Government of India’s broader vision of innovation-led education, future-ready skills, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

    Advanced STEM Learning Solutions

The proposed STEM kits will integrate electronics, embedded systems, sensors, and real-time feedback technologies to deliver immersive and interactive learning experiences. In addition, the kits aim to promote hands-on experimentation, analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students.

The initiative seeks to move beyond conventional passive teaching methods by encouraging active participation and experiential learning. As a result, students will gain stronger conceptual understanding and practical exposure to STEM subjects.

Furthermore, the products combine mechanical design and educational pedagogy with emerging technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and the Internet of Things (IoT). This integrated approach blends physical learning tools with digital intelligence to create a comprehensive educational ecosystem.

    Focus On Indigenous Manufacturing

The project also addresses rising domestic demand for STEM kits, educational toys, and electronic learning modules. At present, imported products dominate this segment. Therefore, the company’s emphasis on indigenous design and local manufacturing is expected to strengthen India’s self-reliant educational technology ecosystem.

Additionally, the production process will incorporate environmentally conscious practices. The STEM kits will use eco-friendly and biodegradable materials for product surfaces, casings, and packaging components in line with global sustainability standards.

    Government Highlights Innovation-Led Education

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary, TDB, said that India’s future innovation capabilities would depend on effectively nurturing scientific curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills among young learners.

He added that TDB’s support for indigenous STEM learning technologies reflects the Government’s commitment to strengthening experiential education, deep-tech learning ecosystems, and innovation-driven skill development for the next generation.

Meanwhile, the promoters of Ansoz Creations Pvt. Ltd. expressed gratitude for TDB’s support. They stated that the assistance would help scale up manufacturing of advanced STEM activity kits designed to support adaptive, experiential, and personalised cognitive learning for different age groups.

They further noted that the initiative would contribute towards building a future-ready learning ecosystem and nurturing innovation-driven talent across India.
