Netflix Chief Product Officer Eunice Kim to Depart After Leading Key Innovations
Eunice Kim, Netflix’s Chief Product Officer since 2023, will leave the company, the streaming platform announced on Wednesday. Chief Technology Officer Elizabeth Stone will step into the role on an interim basis.
A Key Figure in Netflix’s Growth Strategy
Kim joined Netflix in 2021 and played a pivotal role in leading its consumer product innovation team. Among her notable achievements was spearheading a major redesign of Netflix’s connected-TV interface, launched in May 2025. The updated interface aimed to simplify navigation and enhance the overall user experience for the platform’s millions of global subscribers.
Reflecting on her time at Netflix, Kim said, “Over the past five years, we grew the business together from 200 million to over 300 million members by successfully launching and scaling many major growth initiatives, including the ads plan.”
Before joining Netflix, Kim held leadership roles at Google Play and YouTube, bringing valuable experience in digital product development and platform scaling.
Netflix Eyes Continued Innovation Amid Changing Landscape
Kim’s departure comes at a time when Netflix is actively diversifying its offerings. In July, the company beat Wall Street earnings expectations and increased its annual revenue forecast, though much of that uplift was driven by currency exchange benefits rather than a surge in content demand.
To appeal to cost-conscious users, Netflix has introduced an ad-supported tier, which the company insists will not be the primary source of revenue growth this year. It has also begun offering live programming, including professional wrestling events through WWE, to attract a broader audience and boost advertiser interest.
As Elizabeth Stone takes over product responsibilities, Netflix’s leadership will be closely watched to see how it navigates future user experience improvements and content strategy shifts.
