Ananth Technologies Hands Over Satellites to ISRO for Space Docking Experiment

Hyderabad-based Ananth Technologies (ATL) delivered two 400 kg class satellites to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday. These satellites will play a crucial role in ISRO’s Space Docking Experiment, which is scheduled for later this year. The mission is seen as a significant step towards future Indian space initiatives, such as the country’s Indian space station and the Chandrayaan-4 mission, aimed at retrieving lunar samples.

The satellites will be launched aboard the PSLV-C60 (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) mission, planned for December 2024. The PSLV rocket for this mission is also being built at ATL’s facility in Thiruvananthapuram.

ATL’s Role in India’s Space Sector

The handover ceremony took place at ATL’s facility in KIADB Aerospace Park, Bengaluru, with M Shankaran, director of ISRO’s U R Rao Satellite Centre, in attendance. Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, ATL’s chairman, praised the accomplishment, noting it as a testament to ATL’s dedication to advancing India’s space sector.

Since 2000, ATL has been a key partner for ISRO, manufacturing electronic subsystems and contributing to every major Indian space programme over the past two decades. The integration project for the two satellites involved more than 100 highly skilled engineers and technicians, making it one of the most sophisticated satellite integration efforts ever undertaken by a private Indian company.

In addition to its work on satellite technology, ATL has been involved in solar panel design and production for small satellites, with exports to international customers. The company has also supported ISRO’s PSLV missions, completing work on 10 PSLVs to date.
