Suhora Technologies Partners with Orbital Sidekick: Advanced Hyperspectral Satellite Services in India Soon

India’s space-tech sector is set to witness a major leap forward as Suhora Technologies, a homegrown geospatial analytics company, has announced a strategic partnership with U.S.-based Orbital Sidekick (OSK). The collaboration aims to introduce high-resolution hyperspectral satellite data services to the Indian market—making Suhora the first Indian company to commercially offer hyperspectral imagery covering the full VNIR-SWIR spectrum.

This move positions India at the forefront of next-generation Earth observation capabilities, with significant implications for industries ranging from natural resource exploration to environmental monitoring and strategic infrastructure.

With the Indian geospatial sector projected to expand rapidly, this partnership signals growing international collaboration and rising domestic capacity in Earth observation. The new services are expected to support applications in mineral mapping, precision agriculture, environmental surveillance, and infrastructure planning—offering decision-makers more precise, real-time, and contextual insights than ever before.

As part of the agreement, OSK’s cutting-edge hyperspectral imagery will be integrated into Suhora’s flagship analytics platform, SPADE—a subscription-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that already offers data from SAR, optical, and thermal sensors. With the addition of hyperspectral data, SPADE will now enable detailed material classification and anomaly detection, transforming decision-making across sectors.

OSK’s hyperspectral technology is built to capture up to 472 contiguous spectral bands at a spatial resolution of 8.3 meters. Its GHOSt constellation—currently comprising five operational satellites—offers faster revisit times and higher spectral granularity than publicly available sources such as EnMAP (Germany), PRISMA (Italy), or NASA’s EMIT mission. The result is a richer, more actionable dataset for use in mining, energy, agriculture, and national security.

Speaking on the collaboration between Suhora and OSK, Krishanu Acharya, CEO and Co-founder of Suhora Technologies, stated, “This partnership represents a milestone for India’s geospatial ecosystem. As global demand for satellite-driven analytics accelerates, high-quality hyperspectral imagery will be a key enabler of smarter decision-making. Our work with Orbital Sidekick brings this capability to Indian enterprises and government agencies at a time when the need for precision data is more urgent than ever.”

Rupesh Kumar, CTO and Co-founder of Suhora, emphasized the analytical possibilities unlocked by this integration: “From identifying rare earth elements to detecting methane leaks or assessing oil spill thickness, hyperspectral data provides a level of detail previously unavailable through conventional satellite imagery. The inclusion of OSK’s data on SPADE will redefine what’s possible in satellite analytics for India and the broader region.”

Tushar Prabhakar, COO and Co-founder of Orbital Sidekick, echoed the excitement. “We are thrilled to bring our hyperspectral capabilities to India through this collaboration with Suhora. The country represents a dynamic and rapidly evolving market for geospatial intelligence. Suhora’s expertise and strong network will be instrumental in translating our data into real-world value for Indian clients.”
