OpenAI Releases A New Affordable Plan for Indian Users

OpenAI, the developer behind ChatGPT, has introduced a new subscription plan called ChatGPT Go, exclusively for users in India. Priced at just ₹399 ($4.57) per month, this is OpenAI’s most budget-friendly offering so far. The launch reflects OpenAI’s aim to strengthen its presence in India, which is its second-largest market.

India’s large, price-conscious internet user base—nearly one billion people—has often driven global companies to introduce more affordable services tailored to the local market. ChatGPT Go fits into this strategy by making advanced AI tools more accessible.

    More Features for Less Cost

The ChatGPT Go plan gives users up to ten times more messages and image generations compared to the free version. It also offers significantly faster response times, enhancing the user experience. Those who need even more capacity can opt for higher-tier plans with increased limits.

According to OpenAI, this new plan is meant for Indian users who want to use ChatGPT’s advanced features without paying premium prices. It aims to provide high-value access to AI tools for students, professionals, and everyday users alike.

    Other ChatGPT Plans in India

ChatGPT Go sits below the other two existing plans in terms of pricing. The top-tier subscription, ChatGPT Pro, costs ₹19,900 per month, while the mid-tier ChatGPT Plus is priced at ₹1,999 per month. By comparison, ChatGPT Go offers a much more accessible option for users who may not need the full capabilities of the more expensive plans.

Earlier this year, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman met with India’s IT Minister to explore building a cost-effective AI ecosystem. The launch of ChatGPT Go appears to be a step in that direction.
