Territorial Army Launches Terrier Cyber Quest 2026 to Tackle Emerging Security Threats
The Territorial Army, in collaboration with CyberPeace, has launched Terrier Cyber Quest 2026 (TCQ 3.0), a national-level hackathon focused on developing innovative responses to contemporary defence, cybersecurity and information-domain challenges.
The third edition aims to bring together technical talent from academia, industry, research institutions, government organisations and the Armed Forces. In addition, the initiative will encourage participants to develop indigenous solutions with relevance to national security.
Focus on Emerging Cybersecurity Challenges
TCQ 3.0 will address several emerging areas, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, threat mitigation and digital awareness. Furthermore, the competition will provide a platform for participants to apply technical expertise to challenges linked to defence and the wider information domain.
Building on the previous editions, the competition will be organised across three distinct tracks. Each track will focus on a specific aspect of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence or digital awareness.
Bug Hunting Track
The Bug Hunting track will begin with an online Capture-the-Flag (CTF) qualifier before progressing to an in-person live sandbox finale.
Participants will identify and document vulnerabilities within simulated critical infrastructure environments. The challenge will therefore test participants’ ability to detect and assess cybersecurity weaknesses in controlled settings.
AI Kavach Track
The AI Kavach track will focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Participants will develop solutions aimed at predictive threat intelligence, automated defence mechanisms and anomaly detection.
Through this track, the competition will encourage the application of AI and machine-learning capabilities to emerging security challenges. It will also promote the development of solutions designed to support threat identification and defence.
Creators Challenge Track
The Creators Challenge will target content creators, communicators and influencers. Participants will develop digital media and storytelling initiatives designed to raise awareness of online threats.
The challenge will address issues including deepfakes, phishing, online scams and misinformation. As a result, participants will be encouraged to create impactful awareness campaigns that communicate these risks effectively.
Key Dates for TCQ 3.0
Registrations for Terrier Cyber Quest 2026 will remain open until 31 August 2026. The online shortlisting phase will then take place from 1 to 10 September 2026.
The Grand Finale is scheduled to take place in New Delhi from 6 to 8 October 2026. The competition will conclude with an award ceremony on 9 October 2026.
