Airbus Delivery Totals Slip Slightly, But Big Orders Offer Boost

Airbus Deliveries Dip as Company Aims for Year-End Surge

Airbus delivered 61 aircraft in August, bringing its total deliveries for the first eight months of 2025 to 434 jets. This figure marks a 3% drop compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the European planemaker on Friday. The announcement confirmed an earlier Reuters report.

Despite the slight decline, Airbus remains focused on meeting its full-year target. The company aims to deliver 820 aircraft in 2025, a 7% increase from 766 aircraft delivered in 2024.

    Major Orders Boost Outlook

In addition to delivery updates, they also finalised a significant order from Avolon. The Irish aircraft leasing firm confirmed shareholder approval last month for the purchase of 90 jets. This order has now been formally booked by Airbus.

The company also received an order for seven A350-1000 aircraft from an undisclosed customer in August, further strengthening its backlog.

So far this year, Airbus has secured 600 gross orders. After factoring in cancellations, the net total stands at 504 aircraft. These numbers reflect strong demand, even as the manufacturer navigates supply chain hurdles.

Challenges Remain for Year-End Delivery Goals

To reach its ambitious year-end target, Airbus will need to significantly increase its delivery pace in the coming months. Industry analysts and insiders note that delays in engine supplies and aircraft seating have created obstacles.

Nevertheless, Airbus remains optimistic. The company has signalled that delivery rates will rise towards the end of the year, as it works through existing production challenges.
