Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026

Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 Highlights State’s Push for AI-Driven Governance

The Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 concluded in Bhopal, showcasing how artificial intelligence is transforming governance and public service delivery across the state. Jointly organised by the IndiaAI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Government of Madhya Pradesh, the conference underlined the growing alignment between national and state-level AI priorities.

    Strengthening AI Education and Infrastructure

A major highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the IndiaAI Mission and the Government of Madhya Pradesh to expand access to AI education and skill development. Under the collaboration, 30 Data and AI Labs will be established across the state as part of a nationwide initiative to set up 570 such facilities in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The partnership with the Department of Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment aims to build a strong AI-ready workforce capable of driving innovation at the grassroots level.

    Launches, Partnerships, and Policy Announcements

The conference witnessed several key announcements and partnerships. These included the unveiling of four citizen-centric digital portals and the signing of MoUs with Youngovator, CEEW, Google, nasscom, AISECT, and BHASHINI. The event also marked the launch of the Madhya Pradesh SpaceTech Policy 2026, inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.

The policy seeks to advance satellite manufacturing, geospatial analytics, and downstream applications in agriculture, disaster management, and urban planning. It complements AI-led governance initiatives by integrating space technologies to strengthen service delivery and boost economic growth.

In his address, Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasised the state’s commitment to harnessing AI across key sectors. “AI can benefit administration, industries, and citizens alike. Madhya Pradesh will ensure continued policy support to the AI ecosystem to maximise efficiency in mining, healthcare, and other critical sectors,” he said.

AI for Inclusive Growth and National Leadership

Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY and CEO of IndiaAI Mission, highlighted India’s growing global role in technology-driven governance. “Through Aadhaar, UPI, and India Stack, India has demonstrated how technology can improve governance. Building on these successes, the IndiaAI Mission is focused on ensuring that the transformative potential of AI benefits all,” he stated.

Chief Secretary Anurag Jain reinforced the alignment between the state’s AI roadmap and the national mission, adding that Madhya Pradesh’s initiatives in startups, innovation, and education were paving the way for sustainable development.

The conference also announced winners of the MP Innotech Contest and the Ujjain Mahakumbh Hackathon, celebrating innovation and entrepreneurship among young developers. A presentation titled “AI for People, Planet and Progress: Madhya Pradesh’s Roadmap to Impact” detailed the state’s approach to responsible and inclusive AI adoption.

    Shaping the National AI Dialogue

Senior officials from MeitY, state governments, academia, and industry shared insights across sessions on “Technology-Led Governance for All”, “AI for Economic Growth & Social Good”, and “Resilience, Innovation & Efficiency.” Presentations by Smt. Shikha Dahiya, Joint Director at MeitY, and Shri Kartik Suri, GM FutureSkills, IndiaAI Mission, elaborated on the mission’s core pillars—compute capacity, data platforms, skilling, innovation, and responsible AI.

The outcomes of the Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference will contribute to shaping discussions at the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled for 16–20 February in New Delhi.
