Anthropic Compute Deal Drives AI Expansion

Anthropic Expands Partnership With Google And Broadcom For Next Generation Compute

Anthropic has announced a new agreement with Google and Broadcom to secure multiple gigawatts of next generation TPU capacity, with deployment expected to begin in 2027. This expansion marks a major step in strengthening its compute infrastructure. It will support the continued development of its Claude models while meeting rapidly increasing global demand.

Moreover, this move reflects a deliberate and structured approach to scaling infrastructure. The company aims to ensure that capacity keeps pace with the sharp rise in customer adoption. At the same time, it intends to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence development through enhanced model capabilities.

Krishna Rao, Chief Financial Officer of Anthropic, stated that this partnership represents the company’s most significant compute commitment so far. He emphasised that the investment aligns with the organisation’s rapid growth and its ambition to remain at the forefront of AI innovation. Consequently, the agreement reinforces a long term strategy focused on both expansion and performance.

    Rapid Growth In Customer Demand

Demand for Claude has surged throughout 2026. As a result, Anthropic’s run rate revenue has exceeded 30 billion dollars, rising sharply from approximately 9 billion dollars at the end of 2025. This growth highlights the increasing reliance on advanced AI systems across industries.

In addition, the number of high value business customers has expanded بسرعة. Earlier in February, more than 500 customers were spending over 1 million dollars annually. Now, that figure has surpassed 1,000, effectively doubling within two months. This rapid increase demonstrates both strong market confidence and accelerating adoption.

    Strategic Investment In Infrastructure

The majority of the new compute capacity will be located in the United States. Therefore, this initiative significantly extends the company’s earlier commitment, announced in November 2025, to invest 50 billion dollars in strengthening domestic computing infrastructure.

Furthermore, the agreement builds upon existing collaborations. It deepens Anthropic’s work with Google Cloud, particularly following earlier TPU capacity expansions. At the same time, it reinforces its relationship with Broadcom, ensuring continued access to advanced hardware capabilities.

    Multi Platform Approach Enhances Performance

Anthropic continues to operate across a diverse range of AI hardware platforms. These include AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs. This approach allows the company to assign workloads to the most suitable hardware, thereby improving efficiency and performance.

As a result, customers benefit from increased reliability and flexibility. This diversity also enhances system resilience, which is critical for organisations relying on AI for essential operations. Meanwhile, Amazon remains the primary cloud provider and training partner, with ongoing collaboration on Project Rainier.

Notably, Claude stands out as the only frontier AI model available across all three major cloud platforms. These include Amazon Web Services through Bedrock, Google Cloud via Vertex AI, and Microsoft Azure through Foundry. Consequently, users gain broad accessibility alongside consistent performance.
