China High-Tech Expo Highlights AI And Future Technologies

The 28th China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC) took place from May 8 to May 10 at the China National Convention Center, showcasing advances in emerging industries and future-oriented technologies.

Covering 50,000 square metres, the expo featured six themed zones focusing on information technology, smart manufacturing, healthcare, green low-carbon development, the digital economy, and regional innovation. More than 800 domestic and international exhibitors participated in the event.

    Marine Robot Debuts At Expo

One of the major attractions at the exhibition was the debut of the “Orca” marine robot, designed for underwater operations. Featuring a universal body and interchangeable robotic arms, the robot can carry out complex tasks including underwater cleaning, offshore photovoltaic maintenance, and offshore wind farm operations.

Its compact design attracted large crowds throughout the event, with many visitors stopping to photograph the machine and observe its capabilities.

    AI Innovations Take Centre Stage

Artificial intelligence emerged as a key focus of this year’s expo through the immersive “AI Plus” exhibition zone. Nearly 30 companies presented advanced technologies and applications covering a wide range of industries.

Exhibits included the ERNIE large language model, autonomous tractors, and digital twin technologies. These demonstrations highlighted the growing role of AI in industrial development, automation, and smart systems integration.

Humanoid robots from Beijing E-Town also drew significant public attention. The demonstrations showcased intelligent machines designed to integrate into daily life and assist with various practical tasks.

    Space And Green Technologies Featured

China’s advances in reusable launch technology also featured prominently at the expo. Rocket models including LandSpace’s Zhuque-2 and Zhuque-3, alongside Galactic Energy’s Ceres-1, were displayed during the event.

The exhibition additionally placed strong emphasis on green and low-carbon transformation. Nearly 50 technologies appeared in the international green economy area, covering sectors such as carbon capture, waste recycling, and smart energy systems.

Organisers positioned the expo as a platform for promoting technological innovation, industrial cooperation, and future economic development across multiple sectors.
