Foxconn to Build World’s Largest Facility for Nvidia Superchips in Mexico

Foxconn is set to construct the world’s largest manufacturing facility dedicated to assembling Nvidia’s GB200 superchips in Mexico, senior executives at the Taiwanese company announced on Tuesday, October 8. This move aims to support Nvidia’s next-generation Blackwell family computing platform.

    Foxconn Capitalises on AI Boom

Renowned as the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer and Apple’s primary iPhone assembler, is now leveraging the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The company is assembling servers that are crucial for processing AI workloads, positioning itself at the forefront of the AI industry.

Nvidia revealed in August that it had started shipping samples of its Blackwell superchips to partners and customers. Following some design modifications, Nvidia expects these chips to generate several billion dollars in revenue during the fourth quarter.

    Expanding Foxconn’s Presence in Mexico

Foxconn already has a substantial manufacturing footprint in Mexico, having invested over $500 million in the state of Chihuahua. The new facility will further enhance its capacity, supporting Nvidia’s strategic goals in the AI and computing sectors.

The partnership between Foxconn and Nvidia signals a deepening collaboration to meet the rising demand for advanced computing technologies, particularly in the AI domain.
