AI-Powered Deepfake Detection in Honor Magic 7 Pro

Chinese smartphone brand Honor showcased its latest deepfake detection technology on the Magic 7 Pro ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The new feature can analyse pixel-level details and detect deepfakes within just six seconds, according to Thomas Bai, Honor’s AI product expert.

“Our deepfake detector can effectively inspect tiny details of pixels on your screen, detect deepfakes, and notify customers within six seconds,” Bai told Reuters.

AI Enhancements in the Magic 7 Pro

The Magic 7 Pro is designed as an AI-powered smartphone, featuring advanced capabilities beyond deepfake detection. It includes an AI agent capable of performing tasks such as booking restaurants or removing objects from images with a single command.

“AI is the core selling point of this product,” Bai said. “We have AI photography, AI deepfake detection, and AI agent functions, making Magic 7 Pro a true AI phone.”

AI Takes Centre Stage at MWC 2024

Tech and telecom companies are unveiling new AI-driven products and features in the run-up to MWC 2024, which officially begins on March 3. AI technology and its regulation are expected to be among the most significant topics discussed at the event.

Honor’s latest innovation highlights the growing role of AI in smartphones, particularly in security, photography, and automation. As competition in the smartphone industry intensifies, AI-powered features may set new standards for future devices.
