UIDAI Partners With NFSU To Strengthen Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics
Unique Identification Authority of India has signed a five-year collaboration agreement with National Forensic Sciences University to strengthen cybersecurity, digital forensics and advanced technology research supporting India’s digital identity infrastructure.
The memorandum of understanding establishes a structured framework for cooperation between the two institutions across several strategic areas aimed at improving cyber resilience and safeguarding digital public infrastructure.
Collaboration Focuses on Six Strategic Areas
The partnership will concentrate on six key pillars, including cybersecurity audits, forensic research, technical advisory support and capacity building.
The collaboration also covers academic and professional development, information security and system integrity, forensic infrastructure enhancement and joint research into emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, deepfake detection and cryptographic systems.
In addition, the agreement creates opportunities for student placements and outreach initiatives involving the university and UIDAI.
Officials Highlight Cyber Resilience Goals
The memorandum was exchanged between Vivek Chandra Verma and Prof (Dr) S.O. Junare, Director of the Gujarat Campus of the National Forensic Sciences University.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from both organisations, including Abhishek Kumar Singh.
Verma said the partnership represents an important step towards enhancing the security, resilience and forensic capabilities that support India’s digital identity ecosystem.
Focus on Emerging Cybersecurity Challenges
The collaboration comes as digital identity systems face increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity threats and growing concerns around deepfakes, AI-driven fraud and data security.
Officials said the partnership aims to improve technical expertise, strengthen forensic readiness and support research into advanced cybersecurity solutions for Aadhaar-related infrastructure.
The agreement also reflects broader government efforts to improve digital trust and reinforce protections across India’s expanding digital public infrastructure ecosystem.
