National Technology Day: Shaping a Sustainable, Inclusive, and Digitally Empowered Future

    National Technology Day

On National Technology Day, a powerful message echoes across India’s innovation landscape—not just of progress, but of purpose. From healthcare to finance, from smart manufacturing to climate resilience, leaders are reaffirming their commitment to harnessing technology for an inclusive, sustainable, and digitally empowered future.

At the heart of this vision is the belief that technology is not merely a tool for convenience but a transformative force capable of addressing some of society’s most pressing challenges.

    Healthcare Reimagined with AI

Enbasekar D, Co-founder and CTO of MediBuddy, highlights how the company is deploying artificial intelligence to revolutionize healthcare delivery in India.

“Our entire health-tech ecosystem is designed with scale, security, and trust in mind,” he explains. “Our AI-powered tools—like SHERLOCK, our fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) prevention engine, and CLARA, a clinical co-pilot for doctors—ensure clinical accuracy, real-time fraud detection, and data-driven decision-making. We’re committed to enabling India with future-ready, tech-enabled healthcare that is both accessible and reliable.”

Sustainable Innovation as a Global Imperative

Priyanka Jain, Manager of Engineering Product Management at Ascendion, stresses the need for responsible innovation that anticipates global challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and urbanization.

“National Technology Day is a moment to reflect on the responsibilities that come with innovation. Technology like GenAI must serve not just profit but people and the planet,” she says.

“Whether it’s smart grids delivering green energy, AI driving building efficiency, or sustainable manufacturing reducing waste—our goal must be to create equity, restore normalcy in times of crisis, and leave a positive legacy. But no one can do this alone. We need collaboration across governments, industries, and communities to build a resilient, inclusive future.”

Expanding Financial Access Through Digital Infrastructure

Patanjali Somayaji, CTO of Axio, emphasizes how India’s digital public infrastructure democratises financial access and redefines creditworthiness.

“National Technology Day is a testament to India’s ability to transform ideas into inclusive platforms,” he says. “At Axio, we use advanced data science to design responsible, personalized credit offerings. By keeping users at the centre, we empower informed financial decisions and promote sustainable credit behaviour.”

“As we look ahead, our vision is a financial ecosystem that is inclusive by design and sustainable by intent—delivering long-term value for individuals, the economy, and the nation.”

More Innovative Industry for a Cleaner Tomorrow

In the industrial and energy space, Anita Vijaykrishnan, VP of Engineering and India Leader at Honeywell Technology Solutions, outlines how emerging technologies enable operational efficiency and sustainability.

“We’re embedding Agentic AI and IoT into intelligent systems that improve energy efficiency, enhance plant performance, and support smarter grid management,” she says. “These capabilities, backed by cloud-based infrastructure, deliver real-time insights and autonomous decision-making across industries—from connected buildings to clean energy and next-gen aviation.”

From AI-driven health platforms and GenAI-powered climate solutions to inclusive financial ecosystems and energy-optimized industries, one message is clear: technology is not just about what we build but who we empower, what we protect, and how we collaborate.

National Technology Day, then, is more than a celebration. It is a call to lead with purpose, empathy, and foresight—as we build a future that is not only digitally advanced but also sustainable and equitable for all.
