Privacy and Innovation Take Centre Stage at CES 2026 with HIROH Secure Phone and Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the HIROH Secure Phone, powered by Murena, emerged as one of the event’s standout devices, captivating audiences with its privacy-first design and hardware-level security features. Alongside it, Samsung drew attention with the debut of its Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone, while Mudita introduced the minimalist Kompakt phone aimed at users seeking a digital detox.

HIROH Secure Phone Offers Hardware-Level Privacy

Developed to protect users from surveillance and digital intrusion, the HIROH Secure Phone operates on a de-Googled version of Android and includes a physical kill switch that disables the camera, microphone and connectivity components. Unlike standard software-based privacy controls, these hardware cutoffs ensure that sensitive features are completely powered down when toggled off.

“It’s basically security without compromise,” said Victor Cocchia, CEO of HIROH. “It doesn’t matter if there’s malware or spyware on our phones. No one can hear or see what we’re doing.”

The device also boasts premium specifications such as an AMOLED display, positioning it as a viable competitor to flagship models from Apple and Samsung. Its privacy focus taps into growing consumer concern over data tracking and surveillance in mobile technology.

    Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z TriFold

Samsung also made headlines at CES with the Galaxy Z TriFold, a bold addition to its foldable smartphone line-up. The device features a dual-hinge mechanism and unfolds into a 10-inch AMOLED screen, offering users tablet-like utility with the convenience of a phone-sized form when folded.

The TriFold supports multitasking, streaming and productivity applications, effectively blending entertainment and work functionalities. “I think the trifold is pretty cool,” said CES attendee Pete Pachal from New Jersey. “I guarantee you will be the coolest person in your friend group if you are one of the people who buys it when it’s brand new.”

Minimalist Tech Gains Ground with Mudita Kompakt

While many exhibitors showcased high-tech innovations, Polish company Mudita took a contrasting approach with the Kompakt, a minimalist phone designed to curb screen addiction. Featuring a monochrome display and no social media apps, it targets users seeking to reduce digital fatigue and promote mindful technology use.

“The average screen time in the U.S. is more than six hours daily,” said Michal Stusiak, Mudita’s managing director. “The phone is designed to help people live a healthier life with technology.”

A Showcase of Contrasting Tech Philosophies

From ultra-secure devices to cutting-edge foldables and minimalist alternatives, CES 2026 underscored the diversity of consumer demand in today’s smartphone market. Whether prioritising privacy, performance or simplicity, this year’s showcase highlighted how innovation increasingly caters to every type of user in the digital age.
