KSSL Showcases ‘Made in India’ Defence Technology at DEFEA 2025 in Greece
Athens, Greece, Tuesday, 7th May 2025 – Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd. (KSSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bharat Forge Limited and the flagship defence company of the Kalyani Group, is making a strong impression at DEFEA 2025. The event, running from 6th to 8th May at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens, highlights the growing defence cooperation between India and Greece.

Over the past two decades, KSSL has developed strong expertise in designing and manufacturing a wide array of artillery systems. From short-range to long-range platforms, including both towed and mounted variants, the company has become a recognised name in Indian defence exports.
The KSSL stand was formally inaugurated on 6th May 2025 by His Excellency Rudrendra Tandon, Ambassador of India to Greece, reinforcing the strategic defence ties between the two nations.
Cutting-Edge Artillery Platforms on Display
KSSL’s display includes the MArG 155, a family of 155mm mounted artillery guns available in 39 and 45 calibre configurations. Built on a rugged 4×4 Kalyani wheeled chassis, the system supports high mobility and shoot-and-scoot operations. The MArG 155 is capable of firing NATO-standard and existing service ammunition, weighing 21.5 tonnes for the 39 calibre and 23.5 tonnes for the 45 calibre model.
Also featured is the Garuda 105, an ultra-light 105mm/37 calibre mobile artillery system. It is designed for operations across varied terrains, including high altitudes, and offers air-portability and para-droppability. With its shoot-and-scoot capabilities, the Garuda 105 is well-suited for multiple mission profiles, including direct fire roles.
Expanding Footprint in Underwater and Unmanned Systems
KSSL is also presenting its suite of underwater autonomous platforms. This includes the Mine Reconnaissance Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (MRAUV), the Expendable Underwater Target (EUT), and the Mobile Target Emulator (MTE).
MRAUVs are currently in use with several navies and provide deep-water mine detection and classification. The EUT is designed for sonar operator training and torpedo testing. Meanwhile, the MTE can be launched from submarines to function as a decoy in anti-submarine warfare scenarios.
Broadening Ammunition Capabilities
Initially developed for its artillery systems, KSSL’s ammunition portfolio now spans unmanned, marine, and small arms platforms. The company manufactures both medium and large calibre shells that are ready to fill, positioning itself as a full-spectrum defence solutions provider.
On 7th May 2025, General Dimitrious Choupis, Chief of the National Defence Staff of Greece, received a detailed briefing on KSSL’s technologies from Mr. Neelesh Tungar, CEO of Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd.

KSSL’s full range of systems are available at Hall 3, Stand No. B40 at the Metropolitan Expo, near Athens International Airport (El. Venizelos).
