PM Narendra Modi Marks National Technology Day
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi extended greetings to citizens on National Technology Day and paid tribute to the scientists behind India’s landmark Pokhran nuclear tests conducted in 1998.
The Prime Minister said the successful tests reflected India’s scientific excellence and unwavering national commitment. He recalled the dedication and hard work of Indian scientists, noting that their efforts introduced the world to India’s remarkable capabilities.
PM Highlights Role of Technology in Self-Reliant India
Shri Modi stated that technology has become a crucial pillar in building a self-reliant India. He said technological advancement is accelerating innovation, expanding opportunities, and driving growth across multiple sectors.
Moreover, the Prime Minister stressed that the government remains focused on empowering talent, promoting research, and developing solutions that support national progress as well as the aspirations of citizens.
He added that innovation and scientific development continue to strengthen India’s global standing while creating new possibilities for economic and social advancement.
Pokhran Tests Remembered as Historic Milestone
Reflecting on the Pokhran nuclear tests carried out on May 11, 1998, the Prime Minister described the event as a defining moment in India’s history. He said the tests demonstrated the country’s scientific and strategic strength before the world.
Furthermore, Shri Modi praised Indian scientists as the true architects of the nation’s pride and self-respect. He noted that their contribution remains a source of inspiration for future generations working in science and technology.
The Pokhran tests are commemorated annually through National Technology Day, which recognises India’s achievements in scientific research and technological progress.
Sanskrit Subhashitam Highlights Power of Agni
In his message, the Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam centred on Agni, describing it as the supreme power of the heavens and the primary source of energy on earth.
He explained that the fiery essence of Agni awakens immense power hidden within the smallest particles of matter and spreads energy and motion throughout creation.
In a series of posts on X, Shri Modi reiterated that India’s technological growth continues to play a transformative role in shaping the country’s future and strengthening its self-reliance.
