Trump Invites Top CEOs For China Visit With Xi Jinping
The White House is reportedly inviting several leading American business executives to accompany Donald Trump during his upcoming visit to China, where he is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to a Bloomberg News report published on Monday, the delegation is expected to include Elon Musk of Tesla and Tim Cook of Apple.
Business Leaders Expected In Delegation
The report also said several influential Wall Street executives are likely to join the trip. These include David Solomon of Goldman Sachs, Stephen Schwarzman of Blackstone, and Larry Fink of BlackRock.
Jane Fraser of Citigroup and Dina Powell McCormick of Meta Platforms are also expected to participate in the delegation.
The group reportedly includes more than a dozen senior executives from major American companies and financial institutions.
Trump Seeks New Business Agreements
The visit is expected to focus heavily on economic cooperation and commercial agreements between Washington and Beijing.
According to the report, Trump hopes the trip will help unlock a series of business deals and purchase agreements with China. The White House has not publicly confirmed the full list of participants.
The companies named in the report did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comment.
China Confirms State Visit
China’s state-run Xinhua news agency confirmed that Trump is scheduled to make a state visit to China from May 13 to 15.
The summit between Trump and Xi comes amid continued efforts by both countries to stabilise economic ties and encourage cross-border investment between the world’s two largest economies.
Business leaders attending the visit are expected to play a prominent role in discussions surrounding trade, technology, investment, and market access.
