NASA and SpaceX Target Crew-8 Return from ISS on October 13

NASA and SpaceX are aiming for no earlier than 7:05 a.m. EDT on Sunday, October 13, for the undocking of the SpaceX Crew-8 mission from the International Space Station (ISS). If conditions allow, the crew is expected to splash down off the Florida coast at approximately 3:38 p.m. on Monday, October 14.

    Crew-8 Mission Details

The Crew-8 mission includes NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, Jeanette Epps, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin. After a seven-month science expedition aboard the ISS, they will return important and time-sensitive research to Earth. This mission has contributed to ongoing experiments in space exploration, medical research, and technology development.

    Weather Monitoring for Safe Return

Mission managers are closely monitoring the weather around Florida’s coast. The exact splashdown time and location will be determined based on factors such as spacecraft and recovery team readiness, weather conditions, and sea states. NASA and SpaceX will finalise these details as the undocking approaches.
