ISRO’s Core Liquid Stage (L110) for LVM3 Mission Flagged Off

The Secretary of the Department of Space (DOS) and Chairman of ISRO officially flagged off the core liquid stage (L110) of ISRO’s LVM3 launch vehicle on 17 January 2025. The event took place in the presence of directors from Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC SHAR), and ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC). The L110 stage was transported to the launch complex at Sriharikota for the upcoming mission.

    Tenth L110 Liquid Stage Integration

This marks the 10th L110 liquid stage to be integrated at the ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri. It has been prepared specifically for the LVM3 mission, which falls under a commercial agreement between NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and AST & Science, LLC. The mission aims to launch the BlueBird Block 2 satellite, further strengthening ISRO’s reputation in the global satellite launch market.

    Advanced Design by LPSC

The Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) designed and developed the L110 stage during the development phase of the LVM3 launch vehicle. The stage is equipped with twin Vikas engines, capable of carrying 110 tonnes of propellant. This advanced propulsion system is a testament to ISRO’s expertise in developing reliable and powerful launch technologies.
